Half way there...

This week we had our 20 week full anatomy check up and ultrasound. Stephen and I were SO excited to see our baby again...we couldn't wait all morning for our appt.! :)

                                            19 weeks 5 days

Confirmed - He's a BOY for sure!!! :) Dad was proud, hehe!

Our little guy is a growing machine! All of his body parts (arms, legs, belly, head, etc.) are measuring normal, which is a wonderful sign, and all organs are growing perfectly. It was incredible to see his heart chambers and brain....and my favorite picture - of his little toes!!

                                                 Precious little feet!

My favorite part of the whole check up was when the doctor was trying to get a good shot of his face for us. Of course, he is already stubborn and kept moving around - so we didn't get lucky, but....we did get him to sit still for a view seconds to watch him drink. Yes, I said drink! :) The doctor pointed out how baby was opening and closing his mouth with his tongue moving back and forth. Doc said that's a good sign and that baby was drinking. Thirsty little guy! :) Of course, that brought tears to my eyes. He is growing so fast and we just can't wait to meet him.

Watching him drink (you can see his teeth and tongue)

I have been feeling him move now for a few weeks. It is the quickest little tickle and SO amazing! It has been very sporadic though...which has had me worried a couple times, but I talked to our Doctor and he said it's very normal. I will feel him a couple times a day and then nothing for a few days. So every couple days baby does kick around to assure his momma he's safe and sound. :) I cannot wait for Stephen to feel him move!!

20 weeks.... 140 days to go!

We are finishing up painting the trim/edges in babies room. We will post pictures soon..
We better get ourselves in serious baby-mode....he'll be here before we know it!!!! :)

IT'S A BOY!!!

So, as of today....we are at 17 weeks 5 days (almost 18 wks!!!). Last Thursday, May 26th we had our 17 week check up! Doctor said our 1st trimester lab work came back looking great and we listened to babies heart beat, too! Just LOVE that part the most. :)

At my appt. I inquired about our next appt (19-20 weeks) when we would find out the sex of our baby. I asked our doc, if we could get in the 2nd week of June (next week) for our ultrasound, so we could tell family when we visited the westside that coming weekend. He checked the books, and no dice! They were booked for ultrasounds until June 15th. However, my doctor, being the amazingly personable and caring person he is, told me we could run back and take a quick peek on the ultrasound to found out for us now.

I was SO excited, yet disappointed, because Stephen didn't come along this appt. (as it was just a regular check up and he had to work late.) I was so happy our doctor would do that for us, spur of the moment, but super bummed my husband couldn't be there to find out along with me.

Long story short, our Dr. insisted on taking me back to view on the ultrasound (even though we were early 17 wks...he thought we may see something if baby cooperated!) He DID see something quite obvious! He printed out a picture of baby and sealed the picture in a envelope for me. I brought it home to open with Stephen. We went to dinner together that night and opened the most exciting envelope I think we have both EVER opened in our lives so far, haha!! We both could not be happier.
Now the nursery work really begins...

Here are some pictures of our little BOY and my bump at 16 weeks (couple weeks ago). :)
