Mr. Fix-It!

Bradleigh received his 1st Radio Flyer (mini-version) from his Uncle Ry and he has just discovered it as a toy. He LOVES this wagon - pushing it back and forth on the floor. As well as, turning it over to mend the wheels and axels, haha!

I couldn't resist snapping some candid shots while he was busy playing (or working) on his wagon. :)

Just the beginning.....

assessing the damage :)

1st attempt - banging on the wagon handle...

2nd attempt - using the shovel to repair it

Turning it back over and trying it out....think the problem is fixed!

Loading the wagon up with toys

And, now it's time to take them all out! haha

Lil' Cowpoke

Playing in the backyard naked. The perfect way to be on a warm summer day. :)

Too Sweet!

Telling stories

His new goofy smile...biting his bottom lip :)

Oh, Maverick

Fun in the Sun

PS - B is wearing my favorite cloth diap print. The Classic LPD cow print CD from Lovely Pocket Diapers. WAY cute and only $7.50!!!

Anyway, I had to mention the diaper...because while playing...it gave me an idea! I had to grab Uncle Ry's old western gear my mom had given us for Bradleigh to have.
(Our poor child is going to look back on these photos one day and just LOOOOOVE me! But I don't care, he is too adorable for me not to have the camera ready 24/7 or to play dress up every now and then. Makes for some precious keepsakes.)

Needless to say, our outside play time turned into a mini-photo shoot. Too stinkin' cute!

3 yr. Anniversary

Tonight we celebrated 3 years married and almost 7 years as a couple. As many of you know, Stephen and I have been acquaintances and friends since our early elementary years. We attended elementary through HS together. We reconnected our friendship in the winter of 2005 about a 1 1/2 after HS...when I came home to visit for winter break from WSU. Since then, our love has been unstoppable and growing stronger with each and every day. We now live in our beautiful home we purchased in the Tri-Cities almost 2 years ago. And, we have also started our on family. We have accomplished SO much more than I could have ever thought possible in the last 3 years together. The whole journey has not been easy, but with each other - anything is possible.

We enjoyed a wonderful dinner out at the local Tagaris Winery and Taverna Resturant together. Our fabulous neighbors offered (ok, let's be honest....they have been pratically bragging to watch Bradleigh for us...so we took them up on it for the night).

It was the most beautiful evening, we enjoyed our dinner next to the fountain on the backyard patio. It was just like back in the day :)

Dad's Day

For Father's Day we did some yard work and then enjoyed a yummy pizza dinner at Shakey's Pizza Parlor, where Daddy could watch the NBA finals on the big screen. Laid back family day :)

Triming up the bushes...looks SO much better all cleaned up!

Watching Daddy and Mommy work in the yard

Looking thrilled...haha!

7 Months

Here we are @ 7 months already. Where has the time gone....?! Time flies when your having fun for sure!!

Bradleigh has become quite the little wiggler lately - moving himself around in circles during tummy time. He also gets his knees up, but only while his front is still grounded. Kind of like the downward dog pose...only on his knees. HAHA!

He is just itching to crawl and be mobile - it's only a matter of time and Mommy and Daddy's days will be forever changed. Time to start thinking about "baby proofing" the house too!

He is quite a PRO at rolling over both ways now. His favorite is rolling from back over to his tummy - which really makes changing his diaper a big challenge! He thinks he has mastered a pretty cool new trick though. :)

He has also become a champ during "chow time" as Daddy calls it. This little man can down some grub, haha. He is doing well with each new solid we introduce. He has tried many fruits and veggies, and seems to not mind eating any/all of them. Fingers crossed that these good eating habits will continue...

Until next time!

Fluffy Bum Adventures

Soo...back in March (Bradleigh was about 4 1/2 months) we started cloth diapering to help cut costs on formula AND disposable diaps. I absolutely LOVE it and won't ever go back.

I was verrrry overwhelmed at first when researching cloth diaps. I didn't even consider it for Bradleigh at first because I thought it was like the "old days" - back when my sister and I were born where you dunked in the toilet and pinned with safety pins. No thank you.

Luckily, and very much to my surprise, times have TOTALLY changed and there is a new and improved generation of cloth diapers. There are soooo many to choose from that I did not even know where to begin. There are over a dozen different styles/types: prefolds, pocket, all-in-ones, etc. The list goes on and on. So, after picking the brain of many friends of mine who have tried cloth diapers...I decided to just go for it. So, I plunged in and bought 6 (but got 1 free - so 7). Now, I have about 4 different brands (pocket inserts and all in ones) that I use on Bradleigh. We have about 17 diapers and I do laundry every other day - most of the time I still have about 2-3 diapers available while I am washing the others which is nice.

I also use disposable liners. OK, so I am not 100% green (or crunchy as others may say)...but it is SOOOO nice to be able to flush the liner when Bradleigh goes poo - VS. - spraying with a toilet sprayer, dunking in the toilet, or soaking in the tub or sink. The liners remind me of drier sheets in consistancy and they decompose, too! Genius in my mind :) Makes cloth diapering that much more AWESOME!

Hanging the cloth diapers out to "Sun" - helps preserve them for longer use and to keep the "stink"/build up away! Natural bleaching you can say :)

I was also concerned about washing - let me tell you - easy peezy, lemon squeezy! I use a special, non-toxic laundry soap called Charlie's Soap on his cloth diaps. I also try to "sun" or dry them out in the sunshine on warm days, too...but when I don't have that option.........
Stephen, my amazing handy hubby, made this drying rack for me! I found the idea on Pinterest and he created it for me...I love it!

In closed and hanging position..

drying Bradleigh's diaps! Now we have about twice as many diapers - so the rack is jam packed. But still fits them all :)

I have to say thank you to all my wonderful Momma friends for your tips, advice, and constant pestering from my questions all the time. :) I am so very glad I made the choice to switch and like I said, couldn't imagine going back. Here are some fun pics of our cloth diapering adventures.....

Hanging outside in the warm weather with just my cloth diap, and hat of course :)
