Today we had our 40 week check-up! Tomorrow November 4th is our due date!!! However, as of right now baby boy is being stubborn like his father (haha) and deciding to wait it out a little longer. Come on, baby, we are SOOOO excited to meet you!!!!! Come soon, pretty please!!! ;)
Dr. said my cervix is very soft, but still only about 75-80% effaced. We really need baby to drop down now to start dilation & labor. He has been facing head down for many weeks now, but this morning he was head down in a moon-shape. So, basically laying sideways, like a C. :-/ Not the most ideal position for delivery! Dr. said even if he was to induce today, he would have to do a c-section because of his positioning. Little stinker! So we need him to drop AND reposition, haha! No problem, right?
Also, my blood pressure was slightly high today, which now has me nervous about that! Oh, great...another thing to worry about, right?! The last two weeks I have gone to my appointments, I have been VERY anxious and also nervous to hear if we've made any more progress towards delivery. Therefore, I think my blood pressure reading had something to do with my anxiousness! My heart was pounding when I got to the doctor - I was so excited and anxious. And once he checked me and there wasn't much progress, my heartrate settled down. Normal?! I don't know...but I sure hope and pray that is all that it is. Doctor did have me get some blood work done this morning to check for pre-clampsia. I feel GREAT and haven't noticed any odd behaviors or what not. So we will wait and see what the tests say tomorrow.
Doctor said to give it the weekend and relax....things could change quickly and at any moment. If nothing happens by Monday, we are going to head back to the Doctor to monitor baby and discuss inducing for the end of next week. So, it's looking like either way, if nothing progresses naturally this weekend, we will be meeting our son at the end of next week for sure! 11-11-11 is looking more and more likely...we'll see though!
Today I enjoyed a MUCH NEEDED pedi and tomorrow I have scheduled a massage. My masseuse said that she can vigoriously work certain areas that may help prompt labor - that would be wonderful! I am also hoping to talk my fabulous hubby into some deep foot massages...and whatever else that may lead to! ;) hahaha...shhh...you went there, not me!
Yesterday, Stephen and I got the car all ready to head to the hospital! We cleaned it out and put babies carseat in its place. This week, I also have been getting our hospital bags finalized and ready to go...as the time could come at any moment - fingers crossed! :) I have been reading various baby magazines which have had some great tips for little things to remember to bring. Like slippers, change for vending machines for daddy, chapstick, hair ties, shower shoes, boppy for nursing, your own pillows and your own robe. Sounds like I am packing the whole house, haha! Anyway, my bag is all packed, along with daddy's snacks and change of clothes, too. All by the door ready to go. We bought a new 2G scan disk for our camera and packed LOTS of extra batteries! Don't want to have any technical difficulties on the happy day!
So, as of now, we continue to wait. AND, this waiting game is killing me (and everyone else I am sure...but mostly ME)!!! We hope to meet our son and introduce him to all of you within the coming week! Thinking happy thoughts and trying to really RELAX until then. :)
